How To Follow The Steak And Eggs Diet
The Steak and Eggs diet already tells you what to eat. Steak and eggs. Cook them in as much butter as you want.
You can cook you steak any way you want. Grilled or fried. But the only seasoning you’re allowed to use is butter, salt and pepper.
The eggs can be eaten in any form. Fried, poached, hard boiled or scrambled. And you need to eat a lot of them — this isn’t just ‘The Steak Diet’. You want the fat from eggs to stay healthy and optimize your fat loss. Eat 4-6 eggs for every meal.
No salad or vegetables. No carbohydrates.
You don’t get to eat any snacks. Only eat two meals a day: Breakfast and lunch, or lunch and dinner.
Eat this way for 5 days straight and then…
The 6th day is cheat day. Eat whatever you want. Pastries, hamburgers, pizza — any junk food you’d like.
Some hardcore wannabes may say:
“Fuck that, I’m going hardcore and skipping cheat days!”
But on this diet, you have to have regular cheat days. The steak and eggs diet has zero carbs. When you don’t eat carbs, the glycogen storage in your muscles is depleted. This gives you less strength and makes your muscles look ‘flat’. You don’t lose any real muscle, it’s just glycogen.
You refill your glycogen storages by eating a lot of carbs on the “refeed day”. This helps you maintain strength, muscle mass and an aesthethic physique.
Every 6th day is a cheat day and you can eat whatever you want. Ice cream, pies, alcohol, McDonalds – nothing is off limits.
How hard is the Steak And Eggs diet?
It will be boring. It will be a mental challenge. But once you see that body fat burn off, you’ll be happy you took on this fight.
Carbohydrates are almost addictive, and you’ll feel like shit the first day of not eating them.
Won’t I be hungry all the time if I just eat two meals of Steak and Eggs?
Both yes and no.
Your body has different kinds of hunger. When your body needs water, you become thirsty. When your body needs salt, you crave salty foods.
Likewise, your body has separate kinds of hunger for protein, fats and carbohydrates.
If you’ve been on a high-carb, low protein and fat diet until now, eating lots of protein and fat will make you very satisfied. Your body’s had enough of carbs already. And once you’ve been off carbs for a few days, it will be easy.
And in general, fat and protein gives you more lasting satisfaction and energy.
With time, your body becomes more hungry after carbohydrates. Maybe you don’t crave after them, but you’ll notice the satisfaction you previously enjoyed from fat and protein will go away.
But the Steak and Eggs diet isn’t a diet you should stay in for long.
It exists for one purpose: Extreme fat loss in a limited period of time.
That means the satisfaction from fat and protein won’t go away. And even if it does, you should have the mental willpower to endure it for such a short time.
Isn’t steak, eggs and butter high in fat and unhealthy?
It’s high in fat.
But it’s not unhealthy unless you’re part of the 10% of the population who get increased cholesterol levels from diet. Rest of us don’t.
The myth about cholesterol and eggs being dangerous has since long been debunked. Even the American Hearth Associations recommends you to eat a few eggs a day.
Saturated fat gives you a healthy brain and testosterone levels . It’s also the key for losing fat on this diet, so don’t skip it.
Speaking of testosterone…
Does the steak and eggs diet boost my testosterone?
No. Your testosterone levels are dictated by your genetics. Some are born with lower T. Some with higher. You can NOT go past this upper limit as a natural.
No matter how many eggs you eat.
However, you can have unnaturally low testosterone. Maybe you’ve got a brain injury or nutrient deficiency.
You can fix the underlying problem and get back to normal testosterone. Maybe you live unhealthy today. Eat like a man naturally would eat, and you may get healthy testosterone levels.
But you won’t get past that. You can’t BOOST your testosterone.
Not with diet or white-hat supplements. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either wrong, oversimplifying or trying to scam you.
To achieve supraphysiological testosterone levels, you need to take drugs or grey-area chemicals and supplements. Real athletes and bodybuilders laugh at anyone who thinks a special diet will skyrocket your testosterone and muscle growth.
How does the Steak and Eggs diet burn body fat?
The Steak and Eggs diet is a ketogenic diet, one of the first variations of it.
It’s a high-fat, moderate protein and zero carbohydrate diet.
Your body uses carbohydrates as energy. When you don’t eat carbohydrates, your body’s forced to burn fat for energy instead.
Let’s make it stupid clear: For the Steak and Eggs diet to work you HAVE to eat high fat and zero carbohydrates.
When you eat carbohydrates you get a huge spike in insulin. Insulin is what stores fat in your body, and when your insulin is high… fat loss becomes almost impossible.
When you’re on a ketogenic diet, your insulin levels don’t spike in the same way. They stay consistently low. Because of that, you’ll be in a much better place for metabolizing fat.

Can I eat switch out steak with another meat?
Well, there are many kinds of steak. Lamb steak, beef steak, pork steak and even tuna steak. Don’t overcomplicate it.
However, I wouldn’t pick a meat that is too lean. Keep in mind that fat is crucial in this diet.
When should I do the steak and eggs diet?
When you want dramatic fat loss results. That’s the primary goal of this diet.
Don’t expect to build muscle, and don’t train extremely heavy when you’re on this diet. You may be able to if you’re new to lifting, or taking drugs that help you stay anabolic and strong.
It’s not impossible to be an experienced lifter and still build muscle on the steak and eggs diet. But don’t hold your breath.
